I would like to welcome you all to my online art gallery. The purpose of the site is to showcase my artwork and to finally make them available for purchase. I would like to thank everyone who has supported and encouraged me throughout the process. There are a few things I would like to mention to everyone as I embark on this adventure. Please, contact me if there is a piece you're interested it but it is no longer available, there may be options for prints or to create a new and similar piece. If there is a piece you like but you would prefer a different color scheme, main subject, etc., contact me to explore some options. I am open for commissions but withhold the right to refuse an offer. about the art.
I am an American visual artist, operating out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I create abstract and pop art paintings using acrylic paints as well as construct abstract wooden sculptures. In my paintings I use all types of acrylic paints from high flow to heavy texture. In a portion of my pieces I utilize elaborate and self made stencils paired with high quality acrylic spray paints. My wooden sculptures generally consist of simple shapes arranged in an abstract and intuitive manner with vibrant colors. My paintings are typically presented using vibrant colors as well and resemble pop culture icons and personal influences.
As for the inspiration behind my work... Each piece might have be influenced by a number of different things. The organizational structure of my pieces are heavily influenced by Culinary School & the professional and detailed approach to Presentation in general. The subject material of a lot of my art is inspired by my childhood as well as the non-stop hustle of everyday life. But at the core of each creation, the emotional foundation is a balance of the timeless and intoxicating bliss of Love and the permanent despair of Loss...of goodbyes. There aren't two emotions more powerful and compelling than Love and Grief. The reality is every single person who has ever lived has loved. We have all been fluent in Love since the moment we were born. Every single person who has ever lived has also experienced the loss of those Loves.
The main goal of my art is to connect with people on an emotional level and to remind them to foster love and to enjoy life. Between love and losing what we love, we only have the power to control one of them. Who and what we show love to/for is in our control and we need more Love in the world today. There is so much hate in the world today that we all scatter to places of likeminded people to feel safe and further alienate each other. I want to remind people to remember to love somebody and to enjoy what makes them happy, and that life is too short to spend it Hatin'.
